The Hélios Trio, an award-winning ensemble on the international stage, takes us on a journey from Rachmaninov to the intensity of Tchaikovsky.
The Hélios Trio was formed in 2014 out of three friends’ shared passion for the eclectic world of the piano trio repertoire. Luka Ispir (violin), Raphaël Jouan (cello) and Alexis Gournel (piano) form an ensemble that has made a name for itself over the years on stages across France and internationally.
Based in Paris, the trio performs in prestigious venues such as Wigmore Hall, the Philharmonie de Paris, the Salle Cortot, the Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord and Phoenix Hall in Osaka, and is regularly invited to festivals such as the Festival d’Auvers-sur-Oise, the Rencontres Musicales d’Evian, the Festival des Arcs, the Pablo Casals Festival in Prades, the Festival de la Roque d’Anthéron, and La Folle Journée in Nantes, Warsaw and Tokyo. They have toured in numerous countries (Japan, China, Morocco, Canada, Spain, Germany, Poland, etc.) and their concerts have been broadcast on numerous media outlets such as Medici.tv, France Musique, Radio Classique, Musiq3 (Belgium) and Kulturhaus Radio (Austria)…
Since 2016, they have been invited to perform Beethoven’s Triple Concerto on numerous occasions in Paris, Rennes, Lyon and Metz, as well as on tour in northern Germany with the Philharmonisches Orchester Vorpommern.

The Hélios Trio has distinguished itself in numerous international competitions: notably, it won second prize at the Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition (2019), second prize at the Lyon International Chamber Music Competition (2018), the Kammermusikpreis at the ISA Festival in Reichenau, Austria (2019), and the Franz Liszt Special Prize at the Joseph Joachim Competition in Weimar (2019). In 2024, they were awarded the Hasselburg Chamber Music Prize by the Stahlberg Foundation.
‘D’un matin de printemps’, their critically acclaimed debut album featuring works by Saint-Saëns, Ravel and Lili Boulanger, was released in 2021 on the Mirare label. Their second album, ‘Bohemia’, bringing together the Czech composers Smetana, Novàk and Fibich, was released in 2023 and was awarded a ‘CHOC’ by Classica magazine.
Graduates of the CNSMD in Paris (Master’s and postgraduate studies), the Hélios Trio have regularly benefited from the guidance of figures such as the Wanderer Trio, the Ebène, Talich and Modigliani quartets, Claire Désert, François Salque and Emmanuel Strosser. As alumni of the ECMA – European Chamber Music Academy – they have furthered their training with masters such as Hatto Beyerle, Johannes Meissl, Patrick Jüdt and Avedis Kouyoumdjian.
The Hélios Trio is represented by the Claire Laballery Agency. It is also ensemble-in-residence at the Singer-Polignac Foundation.

The association aims to promote opera and music more broadly, organize and create cultural events, and provide arts education. Other objectives of Boissettes en Scène include stimulating the transmission and learning of music, developing and promoting artistic creation, producing shows and cultural events, and disseminating and supporting the performing arts.
