The Young Prodigy

Serginé has been passionate about music since his early childhood. At the age of 8, he began his musical studies at the Montereau Conservatoire, studying piano in Sophie Fromont’s class, where he progressed very quickly and his passion grew stronger by the day; at the age of 10, he joined Pierre-Alain Braye-Weppe’s composition class.

At the age of 11, Serginé was admitted, following an entrance examination, to the prestigious Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional (CRR) in Paris, where his main subjects were piano with David Saudubray and music theory with Jean-Paul Despax and Virginie Dao. He then joined Denis Comtet’s piano accompaniment class, Thibault Perrine’s composition class, and Philippe Castaigns’s chamber music class.

He followed a dual music programme: a school curriculum at the Lycée Racine in the General A-Level year (specialising in Maths and Music) and an artistic curriculum at the CRR in Paris in Piano, Music Theory, Composition, Chamber Music and Piano Accompaniment.

At the age of 15, Serginé obtained his Diploma in Musical Studies (DEM) in Music Theory, and at 16, his DEM in Piano with the distinction ‘Very Good, unanimously awarded, with the Jury’s Congratulations’ at the CRR in Paris, alongside his General Baccalaureate (specialising in Maths and Music) at Lycée Racine.

Serginé is currently enrolled on the Higher Education Preparation Course (CPES) at the CRR in Paris, specialising in Piano, and is preparing for two DEMs in Composition and Piano Accompaniment.

This year, Serginé is preparing for the entrance exams to the Paris National Conservatoire of Music and Dance in two disciplines: piano and composition.

Since the age of 10, Serginé has been composing works for orchestra and for piano, including:

- *Histoire d’une vie*, a work for symphony orchestra to be premiered on 5 May 2025 at the CRR auditorium in Paris with the Lycée Racine orchestra,

- *Nuit étrange*, a work for symphony orchestra premiered in November 2023 at the CRR auditorium in Paris with the Lycée Racine orchestra. Conductor: Serginé Nyoka,

- *Lento*, a piece for solo piano.

He has won numerous first prizes in piano competitions since the age of 10, notably the Claude Kahn National Piano Competition, the Concours Musical de France and ‘Place aux plus jeunes talents’ organised by the Lyon International Chamber Music Competition and NomadPlay.

Serginé has organised and performed in several concerts and recitals, notably at the Opéra de Lyon, Salle Gaveau, Palais de la Porte Dorée, Majestic in Montereau, the Musée de la Vie Romantique in Paris, and in Samois-sur-Seine, Montereau, Avon, Moret-sur-Loing and Montigny-sur-Loing. In May 2025, Serginé will be the opening act for the Orchestre national d’Ile-de-France at the Majestic in Montereau.

In March 2024, he won the ‘Jeunes Talents 77’ departmental Grand Prix and first prize in the ‘Music and Singing’ category in the Seine-et-Marne department.

In February 2025, the M6 television channel produced a feature on Serginé, entitled ‘Ces ados qui ont du génie’ (‘These Teenagers with Genius’), as part of the programme ‘Un jour un Doc’.

In 2023, Serginé was a finalist on the programme ‘Prodiges’, Season 10, on France 2.
